The First Ever Giving Gratitude Link Party on A Mother Seeking!
I am pleased that this is up and running during the time of Thanksgiving because we all seem to be in the Giving Thanks Mode.
Welcome!
I am so glad you are here...
{skip on down to the bottom of this post
when you are ready to link up}
Please link your post (not your blog as a whole please, but a specific post) and include a link back to me- a text link is fine or my button on the right sidebar works well too.
Just because it was fun, I created a unique button for this Link Party, so feel free to use that instead.
Realy, whatever YOU like.
If you paste this code in:
<a href="http://www.amotherseeking.com/" target="_blank"><img border="0" alt="A Mother Seeking" src="http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/i414/meredithresnick/IMGP4798-1.jpg"></a>
Then you'll get this:
Cute, Right?
And if someone would be so kind as to remind me how to place that code in a cute box on my right sidebar a la the other buttons, I'd be forever GRATEFUL!
Wait, I think I figured it out. Here's the code for the party, I think. :)
Thanks for sharing! And one of these buttons might be in your near future. You know you want one! :)

I'll go first. I have so much to be grateful for and could go on and on, but I will pace myself (after all, I hope this will become a weekly party!) and share (this week) my deep appreciation for books.
I am grateful for my kindle; for great authors (big and small) that have made and continue to make my journey better and more informed; and for any 'found' free moments that allow me to read and connect and make sense of my life.
One of my favorite quotes (because it says it all!) is by C.S. Lewis,
“We read to know we are not alone.”
Indeed I do.
Just last week I wrote about loving Tolstoy and The Purple Chair.
Sankovitch is able to process her grief through the power of books.... Hmm, wonder if I can relate?!?! :)
I have read many books along my journey that are helping me process and heal. I am not sure how much further behind I'd be without these words!? Too far back to be writing this post of gratitude, for sure.
These books have done wonders for my soul. They have taught me; entertained me; distracted me; modeled for me; and made me understand that I am not alone.
What a gift to know that my pain, although intense and individual, is understood and shared by many... Not because I wish pain for another, but because if our pain is shared, so too can our joy.
I am grateful for the written word.
Here is a list of some of my favorite books along my journey:
- The Gift of An Ordinary Day - Katrina Kenison
- Middle Place - Kelly Corrigan
- The Essential Rumi - Coleman Barks
- When The Labels Don't Fit - Barbara Probst
- Being Perfect - Anna Quindlen
- An Exact Replica of My Imagination: A Memoir - Elizabeth McCracken

- Eat, Pray, Love: One Woman's Search for Everything Across Italy, India and Indonesia - Elizabeth Gilbert
- The Out-of-Sync Child - Carol Stock Kranowitz
