My kids just crack me up sometimes. And it's a good thing because it makes it hard to stay mad at them when they are not being the best listeners (can you guess what kind of day I had today?!!?).
Here are a few recent gems:
Griffin (age 9): Mom have you considered immigrating to China?
Me: No, why?
Griffin: Because in China they only let you have one kid, and since I am the first born, it would be just me and you and daddy.
Sky (age 6): Mom, what's a Godmother?
Me: It's a special person to a child that the mom and dad select. They might do special things with the child, like go to the zoo or take care of them if their mom has a cold or has to go to work and the babysitter is sick.
Sky: Oh, so a stunt-double for the mom. Got it. Thanks.
Sky: Why do you have balloons mommy?
Me: I bought them for Grandpa Bobby; tomorrow will be one year since he died and I wanted to display them to honor him.
Riley (age 5): What's the weather like this morning?
Me: Pretty warm.
Riley: Great! Perfect weather for a cape.
Kids really do say the funniest things!
